Vantage Peak
Duffey Lake Region / Pemberton, BC Region
Hike trailhead started by the parking lot near the Duffey Lake Rd pull off approx 10 mins east past Joffre Lakes. We began at 8am hiking into the forest on the Cherise Creek Summer Trail.
At about 3 km in, we hit the boulder field and continued to hike past it for another 3 km where we reached the first lake. Views at the 6 km point was surrounded by known peaks such as Mount Matier, Joffre Peak, Mount Howard, Mount Duke, and Vantage Peak which was our destination. We rested at the lake and indulge the beautiful scenery for 15 minutes.
Then, we began our final 1 km up to Vantage peaks. On the way, we went through beautiful fall landscapes and with scrambling in the last few 100 meters.
Finally, at the top, views opened up from all directions where we could see prominent nearby mountains, valleys and lakes below.
Final thoughts … this is a well maintained trail with steady elevation. We had clear blue skies and barely any wind at all. We spent a good hour or so at the peak having lunch and nibbing on snacks while we soaked in the views with the sun keeping us warm.
